Where we are. . .Penderyn make award winning whiskies and spirits at their distillery on the foothills of the Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales. The area has spectacular mountain scenery, open moorland, farmland and valleys containing fast flowing streams, rivers and waterfalls
Welsh Gold…at the dawn of the new millennium, a group of friends from this beautiful part of the world set out with a simple vision. As the first Welsh distillers in more than a century they were determined to resurrect a lost art and by doin so create a whisky as pure and as precious as Welsh gold
Our unique still…….the original whisky still at Penderyn is unlike any other. It is a single copper pot which produces a flavourful spirit of extraordinary strength ( around 92% abv) and purity. It was designed by Dr David Faraday, a descendant of the groundsbreaking Victorian scientist , Michael Faraday. We now have two of these stills along with a pair of lantern stills.
Wood and Water ..….we marry our new make spirit with water from the Brecon Beacons. Our whisky starts life in oak barrels from the Buffalo Trace distillery in Kentucky. Once it has reached perfection it is finished in Madeira casks. We also utilise Sherrywood, Peated, Portwoood and other casks, and use our new make spirit to produce a range of other premium spirits.

From Wales to the World…… The distillery underwent a massive expansion in 2013/14. As well as the new stills, we also installed a mash tun to create our barley wash. The reputation of Penderyn Distillery is growing worldwide. We have won a large number of international awards and now export to over 40 countries including the USA, France, Germany, China and Russia.
